Comic cons in Karachi

As I stand there, I see Spider man swinging his web to my front. I turn to my right and see The Joker doing his trademark sinister laugh, I look left and notice the gang from Scooby doo chasing after a ghost, and then it finally takes me a good moment to re-confirm the fact that I am not inside a fictional Cartoon, but actually standing at a Comic con event, taking place in Karachi.  Comic Con is a short for Comic Convention, an event where people from various fandoms dress up as their favorite Video game, movie, Anime and Cartoon Characters and emulate them into reality. Each time I visited such events, the takeaways have been absolutely Bizarre, Unforgettable and Astonishing, to say the least 

In these Events, Cosplayers from all over the city wear unique and interesting costumes of popular video game and anime characters, and while pretending to be these characters, they pose on stage, Infront of the cheering crowd, much like in a fashion show. On most occasions, this show off is turned into a contest between all the cosplayers to see who has the best costume

Once on stage, the cosplayers while still being in the persona of their favorite characters try to reenact popular scenes from their respected movies and shows. Its always interesting to see these people who don't even know each other, but get along so well because of their mutual fascination over the same topic

The Cosplays with the most Effort and poise are asked to pose Infront of

 the Photo Area, where a large group of Event Photographers click their pictures for blogs and other promotions. Not to mention a lot of other people attending the events take pictures with them too

One thing that really strikes me about the Cosplayers is how clever they can be. This girl incorporated her head scarf into the cosplay and still carried the full essence of the character she was attempting to portray. Even the limitations and boundaries of society couldn't stop these talented individuals from showing off their cosplays

 The Best thing about Comic cons is that it is completely open for People of all ages and interests.
In my time there, I have seen cosplays from people in their 30`s all the way to people who are hardly even 5 years old.  

In case you are curious about the number of people who turn up to these events, they are massive. At its best, the place is usually packed fully with crowds of people who come with friends and family to have a good time

       Cosplaying is not the only thing that happens at a comic con. They are various other contests

       and competitions that are held all over the vicinity. the most popular ones are the

       Gaming competitions in which anyone can sign up for participation, and the winners get

       rewards and prizes on stage

There are Art and Drawing contests too, where contestants show their talent of artistic creativity and the good ones are rewarded and put on display for everyone to see

These events usually start in the Afternoon, and last till late evening, and sometimes even into night time. Therefore Food stalls and a lunch service is always present on the spot, so people can enjoy without any worry of missing a mealtime
